Labor Day weekend in Charlevoix..

Charlevoix is a town of three thousand that explodes during the summer months and then slowly closes up from Labor Day through October. After October I suspect there are nothing but locals and a few stragglers who keep their summer houses (or second houses) open. My aunt and uncle are two such people..

He is a professor emeritus at the University of Michigan. He is currently writing another book and Charlevoix is a great place to get away from it all. It allows peace and quiet for him and the town has a nice library and coffee shops and other things to keep my aunt occupied.

There was plenty of time to sit around and visit..

Or to go for walks..

Or visit the library and buy a few used books.

and peek in to the children's section,
and see where children can sit and read..

in the trunk of a "tree"..(how cool).
