what we do for love...

Ron lays on the floor, lethargic. The vet says he has an infection. They don't know from where. He was given IV antibiotics and a fluid bolus and brought home. The cost of the vet visit?...oh my. Nonetheless, we have been feeding him every few hours liquified tuna in a syringe. He has been taking it, until this morning. We are letting nature take its course. How often does a mother put her hand on a pet's stomach and pray for healing or a quick surrender to the inevitable (i.e. death)?.
Dylan picked him up after I returned from the vet and put him (the cat) on his bed and knelt on the floor, his head on the bed, his hand gently stroking the cat, talking softly to him and..crying.
